CO2-Land Standard
The CO2-Standard belongs to the German CO2-Land Association. The standard focuses on methods for humus formation and the calculation of negative emissions. The system boundary is the soil. The main criteria for climate certificates, permanence, additionality, displacement and measurability are taken into account. Farms that implement this standard define measures for humus build-up. Ultimately, the effect or result is rewarded.
The standard is based on ISO 14064:2 and ensures that the data reported corresponds to the actual situation on the farm.
The CO2 standard is intended to make a relevant contribution to global climate protection and adaptation to climate change. As a side effect the standard further results in soil fertility, groundwater protection and biodiversity.
